Milan, Italy, September 6, 2024 – Milestone and MotoGP™ are pleased to unveil the special helmet that Aprilia Racing Team rider Maverick Viñales will wear on the occasion of the upcoming Gran Premio Red Bull di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, a unique design created by the players of the MotoGP™24 videogame.
From the 9th of May to the 6th of June 2024, MotoGP™24 players had the opportunity to submit their most imaginative ideas using the game's helmet editor, an advanced tool that allows fans to express themselves by creating original graphics to use in their virtual races. Showcasing how gaming and real-world sports can come together in the name of the same passion, the winning design chosen by Maverick Viñales himself will be proudly worn by the Spanish rider during the race weekend.
Maverick Viñales expressed his enthusiasm for the project: “I'm excited to wear this special helmet designed by my fans. I would like to thank everyone for the effort they put in and for their creativity. Choosing only one design was very difficult and now I can't wait to showcase it on the track. The contest attracted entries from across the globe, reflecting the diverse and dedicated fan base of the MotoGP™ videogame franchise. The winning helmet, ideated by a Brazilian player, features a dynamic mix of colors as well as the fierce face of a gorilla, recalling one of Viñales’s special podium celebration with the Aprilia Racing Team.
Besides capturing the attention of millions of fans worldwide on TV, the helmet is also available in MotoGP™24, allowing players to race with the same look as Viñales in their virtual competitions.
