Theale, UK – 19th October, 2022: To celebrate the launch of A Plague Tale: Requiem, sequel to the critically acclaimed A Plague Tale: Innocence, PLAION UK, Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment have teamed up with three talented artists from PosterSpy to create bespoke artwork for the hotly anticipated sequel. Channelling the strong bond between siblings Amicia and Hugo, the impending sense of doom and other key elements of A Plague Tale: Requiem for inspiration, each artist has added their distinct flavour to the latest iteration of the beloved A Plague Tale franchise.
A sequel that innovates and builds on its foundations, A Plague Tale: Requiem sees you taking control of siblings Amicia and Hugo as you venture across an emotional journey to save Hugo from a supernatural curse. Discover the price of saving those you love in a world warped by supernatural and malevolent forces as you journey on a new quest for hope. Exploit your arsenal of stealth weaponry, tools and unearthly powers to overcome your foes and set forth through a narrative-driven adventure against unsurmountable dangers.
PosterSpy is a showcase platform for artists worldwide and is home to some of the world’s best alternative poster designers focusing on videogames, movies and other pop culture references. Here’s the artists themselves describing their work as part of the campaign.
From Geeky Ninja / @geekyninja_: "My artwork for A Plagues Tale: Requiem has a simple 'journey' narrative to it. Similar in style to the travel posters of the early-mid 20th century, I wanted to invoke a sense of adventure by showing our main characters Amicia and Hugo standing together, protective of each other looking out over the landscape ahead of them. In the distant horizon we see the prophesied island that may hold the key to saving Hugo. The new world Amicia and Hugo must travel through is represented by vibrant, rich colours while the dark elements reference the supernatural forces that still haunt our main characters."
David Blatt / @KOPF_STOFF: "I wanted to take the viewer with them on their journey with this design. For Amicia and Hugo there is only one goal in mind, to reach the island together. A calm sea lies in front - however, due to the distance to the siblings, one is an observer of the terrible extent of Amicia’s and Hugo's actions, which remains hidden from them without looking to their sides or back."
Anthony Galatis / @tonypnd78: “The A Plague Tale franchise has a fascinating story about hope, bonding, and unconditional love against a hostile and dangerous dark world. With that in mind, I tried to emphasize the siblings' bonding and determination against the sinister plague. Creating a painting pinpointing their purposefulness to salvation. Preserving their fragile nature at the same time.”
