Um die Ankündigung von Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings zu feiern, veröffentlicht KOEI TECMO Europe eine Auswahl an Screenshots, mit denen die Protagonisten vorgestellt werden und ein erster Blick auf die wunderschönen Landschaften geworfen werden kann. Um die zwanzigjährige Geschichte der Reihe gebührend zu feiern, veröffentlicht KOEI TECMO Europe zusätzlich einen anmutenden Jubiläums-Trailer.
In einer Reihe mit Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Book und Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey schließt das neue Kapitel die Reihe mit einer herzerwärmenden Geschichte ab.
Der fesselnde Abschluss der Saga markiert zudem das 20-jährige Jubiläum der Atelier-Erzählungen und folgt den Spuren der Alchemisten-Zwillinge, die reservierte aber emphatische Lydie Marlen und die exzentrische, sorglose Suelle Marlen. Die jungen Geschwister arbeiten Hand in Hand mit ihrem Vater im familieneigenen Atelier, das – dank ihrer Unerfahrenheit in den Künsten der Alchemie - leider nur wenig besucht wird. Während die beiden hart daran arbeiten, ihre Fähigkeiten zu verbessern, entdecken sie durch Zufall ein mysteriöses Gemälde. Durch Neugier getrieben untersuchen sie das Kunstwerk und werden so in eine faszinierende Welt voller wunderlicher Rohstoffe gezogen – perfekt geeignet für angehende Alchemisten. Diese schicksalshafte Entdeckung ist jedoch nur der Beginn einer Reihe von packenden Abenteuern, die die Zwillinge auf ihrem Weg bestreiten, der sie näher an ihr Ziel bringen soll; das beste Atelier des Landes zu betreiben.
