Het langverwachte, volgende hoofdstuk in de METRO-serie, METRO 2039, is vanaf 4 februari 2027 op alle platformen tegelijkertijd verkrijgbaar.*
METRO 2039 onthulde tijdens de PlayStation State of Play de eerste console gameplay, exclusief opgenomen op PlayStation® 5 Pro met 4K, 60FPS en ray tracing. Op launch is een Performance Mode beschikbaar met 4K, 60FPS en Ray Tracing op PlayStation® 5, PlayStation® 5 Pro en Xbox Series X™ consoles. De trailer is opgenomen vanuit dezelfde campaigncontent die op gamescom speelbaar was en richt zich op rauwe gameplay, omgevingsdetails, kinetische gevechten en de technologische vooruitgang die de 4A Engine sinds METRO Exodus in 2019 heeft doorgemaakt. De indrukwekkende nieuwe gameplay van 4A Games verschijnt slechts enkele dagen nadat METRO 2039 tijdens de gamescom-awards de prijs voor ‘Best Visuals’ in de wacht sleepte en meer nominaties ontving dan welke andere titel op de beurs ook.
4A Games staat bekend hun technisch vernuft en was één van de eerste studio’s die ray tracing gebruikte op PC met METRO Exodus en op consoles met METRO Exodus Enhanced Edition. We kunnen met trots aankondigen dat Metro Exodus nu onderdeel uitmaakt van de PlayStation Plus Extra Game Catalog.
METRO 2039 kan nu op wishlists gezet worden op PlayStation, Xbox, Steam en de Epic Games Store; pre-orders zullen later dit jaar van start gaan. Spelers kunnen ook hun interesse in de Collector’s Edition registreren. De Collector’s Edition bevat onder andere een draagbare Replica Spartan-helm.
